Breaking Barriers to Learning
Across Bangladesh, millions of girls face barriers to education — from poverty and early marriage to geographic isolation and lack of safe schools. Soroptimist Bangladesh challenges every one of these barriers.
We believe that when a girl gets an education, she doesn't just transform her own life — she transforms her family, her community, and her nation. Gender parity in education is not just a moral imperative; it is a social and economic necessity.

The Education Grant Fund
Inspired by the global Diamond Education Grant (founded 1972), the Soroptimist Bangladesh Education Grant Fund provides targeted financial support to women pursuing further education or career changes later in life.
Recipients receive funding for course fees, books, and essential equipment. The programme particularly supports women aged 25 and above who are returning to education after family responsibilities or financial hardship.
